In Our Own Tongues

We want the Spirit to arrive and produce undeniable results. The text gives us something harder: the Spirit falls on ordinary gathered presence — not spiritual performance — and the last sound in the scene is laughter. What does it mean that the most dramatic outpouring of the Spirit in history ends with someone calling the disciples drunks?
