The Deep Work of Despair

The cave isn't where God is. The cave is where Elijah is hiding from God. And God comes to him there — not to drag him out, but to ask: "What are you doing here?" It's an invitation to stop fleeing and start pursuing again. Are we running away from something or running toward someone?
